PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Veteran independent musician, guitarist, producer, recording engineer, studio owner, label founder, and generative-AI creator with more than 35 years of guitar experience and professional recording experience dating to 1993. Founder of Bass Grime Records and owner of BGR Audio Mixing & Mastering in Las Vegas, a professional hybrid studio representing approximately $100,000 in production investment. Career experience spans live performance, vinyl releases, hundreds of recording projects, computer/MIDI production, electronic music, artist development, web and video production, event programming, and AI-assisted music creation.
I use Suno as a creative collaborator inside a musician-led production process. My specialty is combining Neurofunk/drum & bass with live heavy-metal guitar, organic drum behavior, halftime hip-hop structure, and cinematic electronic production. I developed a repeatable creator-level training workflow—my Mirror Technique—to train Suno toward my genre technique through high-volume generation, critical selection, DAW reconstruction, live guitar overdubs, arrangement correction, release, reference, and repeated iteration. The purpose is not to copy songs; it is to teach and reinforce the musical technique, structure, energy, and production language I am trying to create.

WHY I STARTED USING SUNO
For years I performed a format that put live guitar back into electronic music. I would take EDM and drum & bass tracks created inside a DAW, learn the arrangements by ear, identify the drops, and perform them organically on electric guitar alongside a DJ. Producers and audiences responded because they could suddenly see a physical musician playing riffs, melodies, accents, improvisations, and solos over music that normally existed almost entirely inside the computer.
What I wanted next was original collaboration. I spent years trying to build serious collaborations with electronic producers so they could concentrate on the production foundation while I concentrated on melody, guitar composition, arrangement, and live performance. The chemistry I wanted rarely became a finished original project.
Around the beginning of 2025 I decided to see whether Suno could become the creative collaborator I had been looking for.
I did not come to Suno looking for a button that would replace my music background. I came with a sound already in my head: Neurofunk/drum & bass, aggressive electronic bass design, live heavy-metal guitar, more human drum movement, and halftime sections that could create space for hip-hop vocals and heavier breakdowns.
Because I have produced drum & bass and played heavy guitar for decades, I understand how the styles can interact. Around 174 BPM, D&B can carry very fast metal energy; perceived in halftime around 87 BPM, the same foundation can make room for hip-hop delivery and heavy breakdowns. My guitar adds an organic midrange and melodic layer around the electronic bass and high-frequency detail instead of simply duplicating them.
THE MIRROR TECHNIQUE — MY SUNO TRAINING WORKFLOW
I call my process the Mirror Technique. I use the word training deliberately: I am training Suno toward a technique and musical language, not training it to copy an existing song. I am describing the creator-level process I use to make the system understand my commands and produce increasingly useful new material in my style.
• 1. Generate broadly. I may create dozens or even around one hundred interpretations of an idea rather than judging the concept from a single generation.
• 2. A&R the results. I identify the strongest versions—the best arrangement, vocal delivery, riff, transition, drum behavior, or emotional moment.
• 3. Rebuild in the DAW. I bring selected material into FL Studio, rearrange sections, composite the best takes, correct rhythm or halftime problems, repair transitions, and restructure the song.
• 4. Add the musician. I record additional guitar, melody, accents, and performance choices that come from more than 35 years of playing by ear.
• 5. Finish and release. The result becomes a professionally selected and corrected record rather than an untouched generation.
• 6. Feed the lesson forward. Using the reference, personalization, upload, catalog, and prompting methods available to me at each stage of Suno’s development, I carry the successful musical decisions into the next generation cycle.
• 7. Repeat. Generate → evaluate → select → edit → arrange → perform → mix → release → reference → generate again.
The image behind the name is simple: I take a rough result, give it the musical equivalent of a haircut, a shave, fresh clothes, and professional presentation, then hold that corrected result up to a mirror and say, “This is what I mean. Now do it again—better.”
WHY THIS MATTERS TO ME
Suno gave me a way to hear original music I had wanted to make for decades without first having to assemble and finance a full team for every experiment. That did not remove my decisions as a musician; it gave those decisions more material to work with.
A project that might traditionally require a specialized singer, multiple musicians, scheduling, travel, studio time, alternate takes, and a second language version can now begin as an immediate experiment. I can then use my studio background to select, edit, rearrange, perform, and finish the strongest result.
One example is creating an English-language performance with a Russian-accented female singer over drum & bass and heavy guitars, then developing an alternate Russian-language version. The important part is not simply that AI generated a vocal—it is that an independent producer can now explore a creative direction that might otherwise be priced out before the first serious demo exists.
When my previous distribution relationship ended after I moved further into AI-assisted production, I did not stop. I became more committed to demonstrating that the important question is how an artist uses the technology: writing, arranging, performing, engineering, selecting, revising, and taking responsibility for the finished work.
I have watched music technology change before. In 1993, I saw resistance to computers entering a tape-based studio. Eventually, people saw what the technology made possible. Generative music feels like another major transition, and I want experienced musicians to be part of shaping it.
SPARK CONTRIBUTION & PROPOSED PROJECT DIRECTION
Working concept: FROM AI TO VINYL — Building a New Hybrid Genre in Public
• Create and release an original Nappy Soldier project using Suno as a visible part of the creative process, then finish it through BGR Audio Mixing & Mastering with live 6/7/8-string guitar, DAW reconstruction, arrangement, and hybrid production.
• Document the Mirror Technique through short-form videos: initial prompt → alternate generations → musical selection → DAW editing → guitar performance → final master.
• Show traditional musicians that Suno can be a collaborator and idea engine rather than a replacement for performance, taste, or engineering.
• Show AI-first creators why musicianship, arrangement judgment, and post-production can make generated material stronger.
• Develop alternate/remix versions and demonstrate how multiple strong Suno interpretations can become a DJ-friendly promotional mix.
• Explore a physical vinyl edition as a statement that AI-assisted independent music can participate in the oldest and newest parts of music culture at the same time.
• Provide structured product feedback to Suno from the perspective of an advanced user, studio engineer, label owner, live guitarist, DJ, and instructor.
TRAINING / INSTRUCTIONAL CONTRIBUTION
• Teach prompt construction around tempo, genre interaction, arrangement, dynamics, instrumentation, vocal delivery, and song structure.
• Teach creators how to compare generations critically instead of treating every output as finished.
• Teach comping and reconstruction: selecting the best sections from alternate versions and building a stronger master arrangement.
• Teach DAW integration, live-instrument overdubs, stem use, remixing, and production cleanup.
• Teach musicians how to translate what they hear by ear into effective instructions for an AI music system.
• Create beginner-friendly how-to content and advanced workflow demonstrations for creators who want to move beyond one-click generation.

CLOSING STATEMENT
I have been playing guitar for more than 35 years, working with recording technology since 1993, producing electronic music, releasing records, DJing, performing live, operating an independent label, running a professional studio, and teaching people how to create. I do not see Suno as a separate chapter from that history. I see it as the newest tool in the same lifelong process: hear something, learn how it works, push the technology, and make something that did not exist yesterday.
After more than three decades in music, Suno has made me feel like I am just getting started.
